A journey of faith through the Trikuta Hills

Nestled in the picturesque Trikuta Hills of the Reasi district in Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi is one of India's holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites. Every year, millions of devotees undertake the sacred journey to seek the blessings of Mata Vaishno Devi. The shrine is famous for its spiritual significance, breathtaking Himalayan landscapes and well-organised pilgrimage facilities.

The Holy Cave enshrines three naturally formed rock manifestations known as the Holy Pindis, symbolising Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati. Pilgrims begin from Katra, trekking approximately 13 km to the Bhawan through scenic mountain paths. Along the route, visitors pass Banganga, Charan Paduka, Ardhkuwari Cave, Sanjichhat and finally the Holy Cave.

Whether you are seeking spiritual peace, adventure or the beauty of the Himalayas, Vaishno Devi offers an unforgettable experience.

History

The story of Mata Vaishno Devi

According to Hindu beliefs, Mata Vaishno Devi is a manifestation of the combined powers of Goddess Kali, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati. She meditated in the Trikuta Hills and later defeated the demon Bhairon Nath.

Before his death, Bhairon Nath sought forgiveness, and the Goddess blessed him by declaring that every pilgrimage would be considered complete only after visiting the Bhairon Temple. Today, Vaishno Devi is among the most visited pilgrimage destinations in the world.
